Unlike its predecessor, "X-Tension" featured no main storyline or linear plot to follow. The game only offered more possibilities than the first installment for players who were capable of setting their own personal goals. To balance this out, Melissa, Bala-Gi, and I conceived a rich and varied storyline, which was subsequently added via a patch and became widely known as the "Perseus Mission". It was a thrilling campaign divided into multiple chapters, capable of captivating players for many hours. We even programmed ourselves into the game, serving as the player's direct contacts and quest givers. Melissa’s guiding principle back then was: "The mission should be incredibly hard — as difficult as possible, but just barely doable." She personally determined the difficulty level through extensive testing and even published a video demonstrating the feasibility of the hardest section — years before screencasts and YouTube ever existed. Those who aim to achieve the highest possible reward here might experience some highly intense moments.
To avoid overwhelming newcomers, the mission is only triggered during the advanced late-game phase.
